Woven on the loom
the way it was for emperors
Jamawar
Nothing here is printed, and nothing is hurried. The weaver builds each design one thread at a time with small wooden bobbins called tojis. The guide is the talim, a coded pattern script that only master craftsmen can read. One shawl may stay on the loom for many months, sometimes more than a year.
